This page covers the questions food industry professionals ask most often when getting started on Cibocom or looking to get more from the platform. If you don’t find what you’re looking for here, reach out to the support team via in-app chat or visit the Troubleshooting guide for step-by-step help with specific issues.
Cibocom operates on a subscription model for professional trading access. Some features — such as browsing the network and setting up your company profile — may be available during a trial period. Contact the Cibocom team at support@cibocom.com for current pricing and plan details. Pricing is structured to reflect the value of replacing costly, inefficient email and phone-based trading with a structured, auditable platform.
Cibocom is a private platform for verified food industry professionals. Eligible members include exporters, importers, traders, processors, distributors, and large-volume buyers of food commodities such as beef, pork, poultry, seafood, lamb, and dairy. All applicants go through a verification process to confirm they represent a legitimate, active food business. Consumer accounts are not available — Cibocom is strictly a B2B platform.
Use the Markets section to browse active listings filtered by commodity, origin, destination, Incoterm, and volume. You can also use the Network directory to search for companies that trade your commodity category and send them a connection request. Once connected, you can view their listings directly and message them about off-market opportunities. Setting up your commodity profile in Settings → Company also makes you discoverable to counterparties actively searching for your products.
Yes. Cibocom is a closed, private platform — nothing you publish is visible to the public internet. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Your specific deal terms, prices, and counterparty names are never shared with other members of the network. You control your own visibility settings, and you can download a copy of all your data at any time from Settings → Privacy. For full details, review the Privacy Policy accessible from the footer of the application.
Cibocom supports trading across the major food protein and commodity categories, including: Beef (fresh, frozen, trim, offal), Pork (primals, processed, offal), Poultry (chicken, turkey, portions), Lamb & Mutton, Seafood (finfish, shellfish, processed), and Dairy. The platform is expanding into additional categories over time. If you trade a commodity not yet listed in the category selector, contact support to discuss inclusion.
When a seller posts a listing, buyers can place a bid at any price they choose. The seller then has three options: Accept the bid, Reject it, or submit a Counter-bid at a different price or with modified terms. The buyer can then accept or counter again. This back-and-forth continues until both parties agree or one party ends the negotiation. All bids carry an expiry time set by the bidding party, so each step in the negotiation has a defined window for response.
When a bid is accepted, Cibocom automatically creates a Deal record capturing the agreed price, volume, Incoterm, and other terms. Both parties are notified immediately. The deal then moves through a structured workflow covering document exchange, shipment planning, and confirmation. You can track every step in the Deals section of the platform. Cibocom does not act as a financial intermediary — payment is settled directly between the buyer and seller according to the agreed terms.
Open the relevant deal in the Deals section, scroll to the Shipment tab, and click Upload Document. Select the document type (Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Health Certificate, Phytosanitary Certificate, etc.), then choose your file. Accepted formats are PDF, JPG, and PNG; maximum file size is 20 MB per document. All uploaded documents are visible to both parties on the deal and are stored in your deal record for future reference.
Yes. Cibocom is designed for teams. A company account can have unlimited team members, each with their own personal login. Admins can invite colleagues from Settings → Company → Team Members by entering their work email address. Each team member is assigned a role — Admin (full access) or Trader (operational access to listings, bids, and deals). All activity by team members is associated with the shared company account and visible to other Admins.
If a disagreement arises on a deal — for example, a quality or quantity discrepancy — both parties should first attempt to resolve it through the in-platform messaging thread on the deal record. This creates a documented trail of communications. If the issue cannot be resolved directly, contact Cibocom support via in-app chat and reference your deal number. The Cibocom team can assist with mediation and ensure the deal record accurately reflects the current status. Cibocom is not a legal arbitration body; disputes involving significant financial claims may ultimately need to be resolved under the contractual terms agreed between the parties.
To delete your personal account, go to Settings → Profile, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click Delete Account. You will be asked to confirm by entering your password. Note that deleting your personal account does not delete the company account — another Admin must be assigned before you can remove yourself if you are the sole Admin. If you want to close your company account entirely, contact Cibocom support via in-app chat. Data deletion is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable data protection regulations.
Cibocom listings and bids support all major international trade currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, AUD, CAD, and more. The currency is selected when creating a listing and carries through to bids and deal records. For Incoterms, Cibocom supports the full Incoterms 2020 suite: EXW, FCA, FAS, FOB, CFR, CIF, CPT, CIP, DAP, DPU, and DDP. The applicable Incoterm is specified at the listing stage and is a core term of any resulting deal.
