A listing is how you signal intent to the market. Whether you have product to move or a requirement to fill, you create a listing to communicate the specifics — commodity, volume, price, origin, delivery terms — and make it visible to your trading network. Listings replace the informal inquiry calls and broadcast emails that slow down traditional commodity trading.

What Is a Listing

A listing is a structured buy or sell offer published to a specific market on Cibocom. It contains all the information a counterparty needs to evaluate the opportunity and submit a bid: product specifications, available volume, target price, Incoterms, delivery window, and a validity period. When a bid on your listing is accepted, the listing closes and a deal is created automatically.

Buy Listings vs. Sell Listings

Sell Listing

You have product available and want to find a buyer. Specify what you are offering, the volume, your asking price, the origin, and delivery terms. Interested buyers submit bids against your listing.

Buy Listing

You have a procurement requirement and want sellers to respond. Specify what you need, the volume, your target price, and delivery requirements. Sellers submit offers against your listing.
Both listing types follow the same structure and bidding process. The direction (buy or sell) simply determines which side of the trade you are on.

Listing Fields

Complete each field carefully — the more specific your listing, the more relevant the bids you receive.
Select the commodity category and sub-type from the structured taxonomy (e.g. Beef → Frozen → Chuck Roll). Choosing the correct sub-type ensures your listing appears in the right market feed and search results.
Enter the quantity in the appropriate unit (MT, lbs, cases, or pieces depending on the commodity). For sell listings, this is the available quantity. For buy listings, this is your requirement. You can specify a minimum lot size if you require counterparties to bid above a threshold.
Enter your asking price (sell) or target price (buy) per unit, and select the currency. Mark the price as firm if it is not negotiable, or indicative if you are open to bids at different levels. Firm prices close faster; indicative prices attract more bids.
Specify the country and region of origin for the product. For buy listings, indicate whether origin is a strict requirement or a preference. Origin data is used by counterparties to filter listings by sourcing region.
Select the applicable Incoterm (EXW, FOB, CIF, DAP, DDP, etc.) that defines the point at which risk and cost transfer from seller to buyer. If you are open to multiple Incoterms, note this in the description and let bidders specify their preference.
Enter the required or available shipment or delivery date. Use a date range if flexibility exists. Delivery window information is critical for matching buyers and sellers whose logistics timelines align.
Set the date and time at which the listing expires if no bid is accepted. Listings expire automatically at this time and their status changes to Expired. Choose a validity period that reflects genuine market availability — listings that expire and are repeatedly reposted reduce credibility with counterparties.
Provide free-text detail about the product: grade, specification, packaging, certifications (Halal, Kosher, organic), chilling/freezing method, shelf life, and any relevant quality documentation. This field is your opportunity to differentiate the listing.
Write a specific, complete product description. Listings with detailed specifications — including certifications, packaging format, and shelf life — consistently attract more bids and reach accepted deals faster than listings with minimal detail.

Listing Visibility

Your listing is visible to companies that are:
  1. Connected to your company in your trading network, and
  2. Active in the same market as the listing
Companies outside your network cannot see your listings, and you cannot see theirs. Use the Visibility Preview tool when creating a listing to see how many connected companies will see it in that market before you publish.
If you want to share a listing with a specific company that is not yet in your network, send them a connection request first, or use the Direct Share feature to invite them to view the listing via a secure link.

Managing Your Listings

Access all your listings from My Listings in the main navigation. From there you can:
  • Edit an active listing to update price, volume, or description (counterparties with open bids are notified of changes)
  • Pause a listing temporarily to stop receiving new bids without withdrawing it
  • Duplicate a listing to quickly post a similar offer in the same or a different market
  • Archive closed or expired listings to keep your workspace organised
Editing the price or volume of a listing while bids are under negotiation may cause those bids to lapse. Notify your counterparties before making material changes to an active listing.
