What Is the Network
The Network is your personal directory of trading contacts on Cibocom. You send and accept connection requests to individuals, and those mutual connections define who you can transact with across the rest of the platform. Connections are the foundation of every other module:- A listing is posted by one user and made visible to their connections.
- A bid is placed by a connected user on another connected user’s listing.
- A deal records the agreement between the two users on a bid.
- A shipment tracks fulfillment for that deal between the same two users.
Connections are between individuals, not companies. If several colleagues from the same company use Cibocom, each of them manages their own connections and their own listings, bids, deals, and shipments.
Adding Connections
Find people to connect with from Network → Find People. You can search by name, company, commodity, or region. Open a person’s profile and select Connect to send a request. You can include a short introduction message. The other user receives a notification and can accept or decline. Once accepted, the connection is mutual and you can immediately transact with each other in the other modules.Managing Connections
View and manage everyone you’re connected with from Network → My Connections. From this page you can:- Browse your connections and filter by company, commodity, or region
- Message a connection directly, independent of any listing or deal
- View a connection’s active listings and shared activity
- Remove a connection when the trading relationship has ended
Removing a connection stops future visibility between you, but it does not affect existing deals or shipments. Records already linking the two of you remain accessible to both parties.
How Connections Link Other Records
Every record in Cibocom is scoped to the two users involved. This keeps activity private and makes it clear who is responsible on each side.1
Listings link to their owner
A listing has one owner (the user who posted it) and is visible to that user’s connections. Users who aren’t connected to the owner don’t see the listing.
2
Bids link two users
When a connection places a bid on your listing, the bid record links the two of you: the listing owner and the bidder. No third party sees the bid.
3
Deals link the same two users
Accepting a bid creates a deal between the listing owner and the bidder. The deal record is only visible to those two users.
4
Shipments follow the deal
Shipments are attached to a deal and inherit the same two-user scope. Only the buyer and seller on the deal can view or update the shipment.
